About this Exploration:

The Historic I.O.O.F. Park of Barnes was originally by J.R.Tripp, A.H. Dearborn, and E.K. Wolverton on land donated by John Bookwalter. The men were members of the "International Order of Odd Fellows".

The Lilly Pool was dedicated on May 6, 1933. The water was continually fed into a system of underground laterals, which watered to the park.

The Park was given to the City of Barnes in 1936 in order to qualify for the WPA Bandshell Project. The Bandshell is the smallest one in the state of Kansas and was dedicated in 1940 to Percy Davis, who was instrumental in it's construction.

Upkeep to the park is done by volunteers; contributions to the Park are welcome!
