About this Exploration:

During one of his famous western explorations, Smith and his caravan of 74 men had no other option. After three days without water, Smith had heard of the oasis in the desert known as Lower Cimarron Springs and he knew the caravan couldn’t go on without it. If he and his companion, Tom Fitzpatrick, could find the Springs, the caravan could continue on to their destination of Santa Fe.

Unfortunately, their only option turned out to be the deadly option. After separating from each other, Smith and Fitzpatrick were never seen again, and Smith’s fate was learned only after the caravan had successfully entered Santa Fe. Smith came upon a hunting party of Comanche Native Americans, and after both parties made their wishes known, a small battle ensued. Both the Comanche chief and Smith were killed in the Springs area.

Tours of the whole Springs area are available for individuals and groups by calling the above phone numbers.
