About this Exploration:

In 1885 the first settlers came to the South Fork area of Cheyenne County.  In the beginning, church services were held in homes.  On March 20, 1887 subscription paper was passed to raise funds for the erection of a building for the benefit of a Sunday School and other purposes.  The amount raised was $15.50.

Built in 1887, after 100 years of service, the Old Country Church was moved to St. Francis and placed next the Cheyenne County Museum.
