About this Exploration: The stone wall along the north side and the dike along the south of the park were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the late 1930's. The Old Mill was moved to the park in 1938 as a NYA project. When operational, this mill made corn, graham and wheat flour in the Reamsville area north of Smith Center. A gazebo, picnic tables and playground equipment have been added over the years. In 1954 the city park was officially named "Wagner Park" in honor of Mr. Sam Wagner Sr., a popular park custodian. |
