Born in Chautauqua county in 1930 Harold wrote about its inhabitants, both people and animals.  His book "Where the Coyotes Howl and the Bob Cats Prowl" fits the area like the Buffalo fit the prairie.   Check out his poems: "Chautauqua County's Last Buffalo Hunt".,"The Cowboy and the Biker", and the beautiful "Prairie Song".  Order his book from his wife, Naida Carpenter, info on website; note new address 306 S. Harold presented programs in small towns, state conventions and to the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
