One of the oldest businesses in Plainville is Farm Implement & Supply, opening their doors in 1947. While the company has recently moved into a brand new facility on the south end of Plainville, a person can browse the many lots around town to see a virtual "ag history."

 

Sometimes called a "bone yard," a lot full of disassembled machines can reveal how the implement industry has evolved  through the years.  Or, if you are less adventurous, just visit the main shop on South Washington (Highway 183) and go inside the main building to see displays of some of the newest equipment made, as well as a few old favorites.

 

Operating hours of the business are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m.-noon.

 

To visit the "bone yard," travel west on Mill Street and then turn north on Broadway.  You can't miss the array of old implements to the west.
