Carthage Meade, KS 67864 About this Exploration: Painted in 1985 (Meade's centennial year) by a team of artists from Mullinville, this mural depicts the flat plains with a frontier town, a train and riders. Later in 2000, a steel silhouette of a lawman with gun drawn by steel artist, Wayne Webb, was added to the building. Just a half block from the intersection of U.S. 54 and K-23, the mural ties in well with the Dalton Gang Hideout, Meade’s major tourist attraction, and makes a work of art out of an otherwise mundane block wall.
