If only the walls of the Wichita County Courthouse could talk of the wild west shootouts and famous gunslingers that made Leoti the victor in the Wichita County Seat Fight Wars.  Visitors can catch a glimpse of the early days of this stately courthouse through the many photographs that line the walls of the main floor. Completed in 1917 and built in a plantation style, it was one of the few Main Street buildings that survived a tornado that struck downtown Leoti in the early 1920s.

 

 

 

The Wichita County Courthouse was the winner of the 8 Wonders of Wichita County contest in the Rural Cultural Element of Architecture.

 

Also located on the courthouse square is a World War II canon that honors the great men and women of Wichita County that have fought for our country and our freedom; and a bronze sculpture by Leoti artist Charlie Norton named "Buffalo Woman".
