About this Exploration:



The Crystal Springs have been supplying the city of Florence with water since the town was founded in the 1870's. The springs have NEVER gone dry in all these years. The springs flow into the Cottonwood River and water is also piped to the Florence Water Tower. The water is running slower after two years of serious drought conditions in Kansas for 2011 and 2012.



The Florence Historical Society erected this sign at the Springs to tell of the history of the source of water for Florence.
