Catharine is a small community of approximately 90 residents located 10 miles northeast of Hays.  A visit to Catharine, coming from Interstate 70 at exit 163, begins with a scenic four mile drive on paved rural roads past the rolling hills of limestone outcroppings.  The road curves as you go down along the North Fork of Big Creek and you can see the steeple of St. Catherine Church in the distance.
